Does he Love you Concept Board
This is a concept board for a new comic I’m working on. It’s been a while since I’ve jumped back into comics and it feels good to finally get back to my first love.
I was visually inspired by the My Adventure book in Disneys Up. If you haven’t seen it get a box of tissues and watch it.
I was having trouble keeping the mood and visuals while in the design stages of the layout part of this comic. So I created a concept board. They can be quite helpful when trying to convey to a client the look, feel and mood of what you are going for. They are pretty simple to make as well.
For me it’s easier to use Pinterest to collect the imagery. What’s nice about using Pinterest for this is you can “pin” ANYTHING from ANY website and it will retain the information for the image on your board automatically. So the artists or photographers work I used in this board are are credited here.
Concept boards are fairly simple to put together. I collect the imagery on pinterest. Then I usually put the board together with photoshop. But you can use any photo editing program really. I’ve seen lots of people use Picassa.
For the final project I won’t be using any of their work. I’ve collected enough raw material over the years ( ticket stubs, old paper, photographs etc) to fill two drawers in my studio dresser.
Well that’s it for today at least. I’m going bowling for Super BOWL sunday….haha….get it?
